    About Yell

    Yell was created in April 2000 as a division of British Telecommunications plc (BT). In June 2001 we became a private company when BT sold the business to a partnership of venture capitalists, Apax Partners Ltd and Hicks, Muse, Tate and Furst. While we are perhaps best known for our printed directories, both in the UK and USA, we have a complete range of products and services to provide you with the solution to your purchasing requirements when and where you want it.
     

    Yellow Pages directories are delivered to homes and businesses throughout the UK and Business Pages covers six major cities and regions in England and Scotland. In the US, we distribute Yellow Book directories in 41 states and Washington DC.

    Yellow Pages 118 24 7 is our 24 hour, operator assisted, telephone service, which satisfies enquiries for quality, in-depth classified business information, as well as business and residential listings. Yell.com, launched in 1996, is our on-line business and consumer site providing services including a directory search engine, Web links, template Web sites (including design and hosting), other on-line advertising products and services and domain names. And we are constantly expanding our product range. Today we are known collectively as Yell but we provide all of our existing products under their established brand names.

    Our business mission is to become the directory service of choice providing information to buyers and sellers wherever we operate.
